How to number PDF pages
Open your PDF
Drop it on the page.
Choose position and format
Bottom or top, left, center or right; 1, Page 1 or Page 1 of 12; starting number; skip the cover if needed.

Numbers are added to every page as real text.
Formats for every use
Simple numbers suit most documents. "Page 1 of 12" is common for contracts and official files, so a missing page is obvious. When a document continues another one, set the starting number (for example 25), and tick Skip the first page to leave a cover unnumbered.
Correct on every page
Numbers are placed relative to what you see on screen, even on pages that are rotated or cropped, so they never end up sideways or outside the page.
Combine with other tools
Building a bundle of documents? Merge the files first, then number the result so the numbering runs across the whole set.
